Beatriu de Pinós Postdoctoral Fellowship
The AFIN research group (Autonomous University of Barcelona) seeks a candidate to sponsor in applying for a competitive two-year postdoctoral research fellowship from the Catalan government. The fellowship contract will begin no later than October 1, 2015. The fellowship provides compensation and Spanish social security contributions totaling 85,000 euros over two years. Candidates meeting all four requirements listed below are requested to send a CV and letter of interest consistent with AFIN´s objectives to PI Diana Marre at email@example.com by January 11, 2015. Once a candidate is chosen through AFIN´s pre-selection process, a full application to the granting agency is due February 5, 2015.
Requirements. Candidates must:
a) have received a Ph.D. between January 1, 2008 and December 21, 2012 (or as early as January 1, 2006 in cases of maternity/paternity, minor or elder care, disability, major accident or illness)
b) have at least two years of postdoctoral experience outside Spain at a university or research center different from the one where the Ph.D. was conferred, at the moment the fellowship begins
c) be author or co-author of at least one original publication in a peer-reviewed academic journal or book series.
d) have not resided or worked in Spain for more than 12 months in the two years prior to submitting the application

AFIN is an interdisciplinary research group based at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (Autonomous University of Barcelona), Spain, focused on childhood, adolescence, youth, and families from diverse cultures and backgrounds. Members research the personal and social development of children and young people, their family and social relationships, their risk and crisis situations, and their rights and difficulties. Fundamental to AFIN are attention to diversity and understanding the challenges arising from changes in family and social life in a globalized world.
Since its inception in 2004, the group’s work has been characterized by an inter-disciplinary approach, creating synergies with other groups and institutions, and aiming to disseminate research findings broadly.
Through multiple agreements AFIN develops joint projects with professional organizations and universities in the US and Canada in North America; France, Italy, UK, Netherlands, Norway, Finland and Sweden in Europe; India, China and Malaysia in Asia; and Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Venezuela, Uruguay, Chile, Mexico, Bolivia and Ecuador in Latin America, where it is part of the Graduate Network in Childhood and Youth (RedINJU), coordinated by CLACSO (Latin American Council of Social Sciences) and OEI (Organization of American States).
